Why homeowners hire us
You'll know the price, the plan and the people
Most complaints about contractors come down to three things: nobody called back, the price changed, or the crew disappeared. We built our process around fixing those.
- One-hour response. Calls and forms get answered within one business hour — including the ones that come in at 6pm, which get a reply first thing.
- Itemized written estimates. Materials, labor and allowances broken out line by line so you can compare bids honestly.
- One crew, start to finish. The owner is on site. No rotating cast of subs you've never met.
- Clean site daily. Scrap hauled, nails swept, driveway usable when we leave.

Reviews
What clients say
Replace with verbatim Google reviews once your profile is live — with first name, last initial and neighborhood.
"Third contractor we called and the only one who actually showed up with a written number. Deck was framed and decked in five days and the site was spotless."
"They found rot behind the old siding, sent photos the same hour, and priced the repair before touching it. That's how you build trust."
"We framed three spec homes with this crew last season. Layout was dead-on, and they cleaned up behind themselves. Rare."

Questions
The things people ask before they call
How much does a deck cost in Missoula?
Most decks land between $30 and $70 per square foot installed. The spread comes from height off the ground, railing type, stair count and whether you go pressure-treated, cedar or composite. Our Missoula deck cost guide breaks down real packages, and every estimate we send is itemized.
How fast can you get me an estimate?
We return every call and form request within one business hour, and the written estimate lands within 48 hours of the walkthrough. If we can't hit that, we tell you up front. Most contractors take days — the industry average response time is over 40 hours, and that's the whole reason we made it a promise instead of a hope.
Are you licensed and insured in Montana?
Yes. Montana has no general contractor license, but it does have registration, and we hold Construction Contractor Registration #287126 with the Montana Department of Labor & Industry — you can verify it yourself at mtcontractor.mt.gov or by calling 406-444-7734. We carry $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate general liability through Acuity, A Mutual Insurance Company, and the owner holds a Montana Independent Contractor Exemption Certificate (#392059IC) for construction carpentry. Ask and we'll email you both certificates before you sign anything.
Do you pull the permits?
Yes. We handle permit applications and inspection scheduling with the City of Missoula or Missoula County on decks, structural framing and remodels that need them, and we build to current code including snow and wind loads.
Does my deck need a permit in Missoula?
Inside city limits, a residential deck skips the building permit only if it checks all four boxes: completely free-standing, 30 inches or less above grade with no roof or arbor over it, 200 square feet or smaller, and not serving your primary required egress door. Miss one and it needs a permit. Out in Missoula County, decks under 30 inches were exempted from building permits in June 2024, though a zoning compliance permit may still apply. We figure out which jurisdiction you're in and handle the paperwork either way.
How do payments work?
A material deposit up front, then progress payments tied to milestones, with the final payment due after the punch list is closed. It's all spelled out in the estimate and contract — no surprises, no cash-only games.
How far out are you booking?
It moves with the season. Call and we'll tell you the honest lead time that week rather than promising a start date we can't keep.
