The part that matters is the part you never see
A bathroom is the smallest room in the house and the most expensive one to get wrong, because it is the only room you deliberately spray with water every day. Nearly every failed bathroom we have torn out failed in the same place: the waterproofing. Tile set straight onto drywall. No pan liner or a pan liner cut at the corner. A bath fan vented into the attic instead of through the roof, quietly rotting the sheathing above it.
So we do that part properly and we photograph it before it disappears. You see the pan, the membrane and the backer board before a single tile goes on.
What a full bath remodel includes
Demo and haul-off, any framing changes, plumbing and electrical rough-in with licensed trades, waterproofing, backer board, tile or a solid surround, then all new fixtures — shower base or tub, toilet, vanity, sink, faucets, trim, mirror and lighting. Wall finishes if you want them: shiplap, board and batten, or just properly patched and painted drywall. Ventilation sized to the room and vented outside, not into your attic.
Montana-specific things we plan for
Hard water in this valley eats cheap fixture cartridges, so we steer people toward serviceable brands you can get parts for. Bathrooms on exterior walls need real attention to insulation and vapor detail or you get condensation behind the vanity every February. And if the bathroom sits over an unheated crawlspace, the supply lines need to be run and insulated with that in mind — we have thawed enough of other people's plumbing to be firm about it.
Small changes, big returns
Not every bathroom needs a gut. Converting an unused tub to a walk-in shower, replacing a vanity and toilet, re-tiling a surround, or fixing a fan and lighting layout can transform a room for a fraction of a full remodel. If that is the honest answer for your bathroom, we will say so.

Common questions
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A straightforward full bath is usually two to three weeks on site once materials are on hand, and the schedule is driven by cure and inspection days more than by labor. Moving plumbing, adding a bathroom where none existed, or custom tile work extends it. You get a written schedule with the estimate.
Do you handle the plumbing and electrical?
We handle the carpentry, framing, waterproofing, tile and finish work, and we bring in licensed plumbing and electrical trades for their scope. One point of contact for you — we schedule and coordinate them.
Do I need a permit for a bathroom remodel?
If you are only replacing fixtures in the same locations, often not. Once you move plumbing, alter framing, or add a bathroom, you are into permit territory. We confirm with the City of Missoula Building Division or Missoula County depending on your address, and we handle the application and inspections.
Can you keep the bathroom usable during the work?
Not the one we are working in. If it is your only bathroom, say so early — we can sequence the work to shorten the days it is fully out of service, but there will be some. It is worth planning around rather than discovering.
Can I supply my own fixtures and tile?
Yes, and plenty of clients do. Get them on site before we start and confirm the models with us first, because a vanity two inches wider than planned is a framing problem, not a shopping problem.
